  • Sara OS now uses saraos.online for updates.
  • The previous update address remains available for existing installations.
  • An automatic fallback keeps updates available during the domain migration.

  • Updates now shows the release date below the Sara OS version number.
  • Lighter typography for the version number and update status.
  • The displayed date belongs to the installed release, including when a newer release is available or the laptop is offline.

  • A redesigned Updates page with dedicated cards for Sara OS, system packages and firmware, plus a compact restore-point overview.
  • The update dashboard adapts to narrower windows and supports light and dark appearance.
  • Update reminders are recorded only after delivery is acknowledged by the notification service. Failed deliveries are retried at the next check.
  • Sara OS checks for new releases after sign-in and then hourly. The same release is announced at most once a day. Do Not Disturb is respected.

  • Media’s queue and window controls remain readable in light and dark appearance.
  • The queue sits below the playback controls. Smaller windows can scroll.
  • Album artwork and track titles are correctly aligned in track lists.

  • Smoother touchpad scrolling in Helium and Chrome, without changing scrolling in other apps. Fully close and reopen these browsers after updating.
  • Files no longer blocks pasting onto SMB network shares when write-permission metadata is unavailable.
  • Files displays an error if clipboard contents cannot be read when pasting.
  • The browser scrolling settings also apply to new users and to Chrome installed later.

  • Improved keyboard handling in Files text fields.
  • Chrome can open local HTML files with their stylesheets and images.

Install the latest update.

Open Settings → Updates on your laptop. You do not need to reinstall Sara OS.
